
London Vaporetto Shorts 2024
The 2nd edition of the London Vaporetto Shorts Film Festival happened on June 6th 2024 at ArtHouse Crouch End in London. The ceremony saw Lada Kopytova’s Blueprint emerge as a major winner, taking home the awards for Best UK Short Film, Best UK Director, and Best UK Cinematography. On the international stage, the Spanish film Sincopat by Pol Diggler was recognized for its technical excellence, winning both Best International Cinematography and Best International Editing, while Rafael Nieto’s Obra de Arte earned the title of Best International Short Film.

The 2024 Judges

Joana Caiano
Joana Caiano (Lisbon, 2000) is a Portuguese writer and director working with fiction narrative, documentary and commercial. Joana studied Cinema and Video in Lisbon before moving to the UK where she concluded her Bachelor’s degree (Film Production).
With an inexorable passion for comedy, Joana loves playing with different characters’ traits and placing them in uncomfortable situations. She is interested in exploring social, economic or political dilemmas in her films.

Tiffany Whitney Chang
Tiffany Whitney Chang is a London-based writer/director from Hong Kong. Her debut dark comedy short ‘Stir’, commissioned by the Roundhouse in 2023, has been selected for numerous film festivals internationally and awarded Best Microshort and Best Dark Comedy Short. Notably, she was named Best New Talent at the 2024 BFI Future Film Festival for her concise storytelling and use of humour to explore complex dynamics.

Maria Mölsä
Originally from Finland, Maria Mölsä is a London based emerging cinematographer, and a graduate of the nationally acclaimed Bournemouth Film School. Since she started freelancing in the camera department, she has gathered experience from major features and HETV series in the UK and abroad, and worked for DP’s such as Robbie Ryan, Ashley Barron, and Emmanuel Lubezki. Her cinematography work includes commercials, short films, music videos, and documentary projects, and she has a special love for analog film.
